About the event

Passage is excited to announce we will be curating an upcoming Powerhouse Late program at their Ultimo Museum. This will be Passage's first major collaboration with the Museum. Powerhouse Late is part of the ‘Culture Up Late’ initiative by City of Sydney and NSW Government, where the museum remains open until 9PM every Thursday evening, with a special ‘after-hours’ Museum experience, including late admission to the exhibitions and live performances across the Ultimo site.

Please join us on June 22, from 5PM - 9PM for Powerhouse Late x Passage: ART AND LABOUR for an evening of panel discussions, live performance, drinks, music by local djs and art by Kay Abude.

Passage has curated the night to echo our recent exhibition (DON'T) BE AN ARTIST by Kay Abude, and the many challenges faced by artists today who are trying to make art their profession. Through satire and wit, this event questions whether artists are fairly remunerated for their work and what needs to change to achieve that. Furthermore, the night will explore how our city's cultural programs can reflect our diverse community and the type of inclusive strategies our leading curators use when producing exhibitions.
